Discover the passion, inspiration, and heritage woven into every stitch of CUREZA London. Our founder shares her journey, from personal struggles to empowering designs for plus-size women.

From personal struggle to creative passion

Growing up as a plus-size girl, I often struggled to find stylish and age-appropriate clothes that truly fit. I was often left browsing maternity sections or clothing for older women, which made me feel incredibly insecure. The rise of fast fashion alternatives like SHEIN offered temporary solutions, but these items were poorly constructed from synthetic materials, terrible for the environment, and often produced in dangerous factory conditions. This frustration simmered over the years, eventually transforming into a passionate drive to design high-quality, long-lasting clothes specifically made for plus-size, curvy women. My goal is to create garments designed to flatter their bodies, made from natural materials that decompose responsibly, without polluting our planet.

Woven heritage: Portuguese culture in every stitch

Integrating my Portuguese culture into my designs felt completely natural. It's an influence that shines through in my art and development, drawing inspiration from my family and our cherished traditions. I grew up watching my grandmothers intricately embroider beautiful tablecloths and towels in the signature Madeira style from our home country. They also taught me to crochet, a skill I’ve taken forward into my own work. With a background in experimental textiles from my GCSEs, it was only natural to continue exploring fabrics and innovative ways to manipulate them, bringing a piece of my heritage into every CUREZA London garment.

Empowering confidence through thoughtful design

My mission with CUREZA London is to empower curvy women to accept and love their bodies exactly as they are. I want them to feel comfortable and confident in clothes that truly fit and enhance their figures. It’s about more than just fashion; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging and self-assurance. When customers learn about our design process and how our garments are made, I want them to feel a deep connection to the care, thought, and dedication we pour into creating pieces that truly celebrate their unique beauty.

"I want every woman to feel like a blazing fire of raw beauty and femininity, with the confidence to strut into a room, not hiding, and say in their heart and mind: 'I am that bitch, I'm a bad bitch, yes I look good, you can look but you can't touch.'"
