Os numerous que nao sou: A journey of empowerment

This collection, translating to "The numbers that aren't me," is a powerful narrative of curvy women's struggle to embrace their bodies. Inspired by the human nervous and skeletal systems, we present a series of textile samples, digital art, and motifs developed throughout its creation. We hope this portfolio sparks a sense of anger at societal pressures, but ultimately, empowers you to see the undeniable beauty and strength within yourself.

Spine manipulation smocking: An accidental masterpiece

A key feature of our collection is the spine manipulation smocking, directly inspired by the segments of the human spine. This unique technique, developed from a happy accident during a different smocking attempt, perfectly embodies the inner workings of the human body. Alongside this, intricate cording is used across various garments to beautifully highlight the natural lines and curves of a woman's body, celebrating its form.

Ruching, gathers, and the textures of life

Further exploring the human form, we incorporate ruching and gathers, directly inspired by the textures of the human brain—the very place where body dysmorphia often begins. This technique serves as a powerful visual representation of overcoming internal struggles. Additionally, two distinct bleach patterns on grey and black denim fabric depict the wear and tear of human skin as it ages, celebrating the journey of life.

No detail is overlooked in "Os numerous que nao sou." Throughout the collection, you'll find striking silver chains and delicate red bead accessory chains adorning the pockets of trousers, bags, and coats. These intricate accents add a touch of rebellion and elegance, completing the powerful narrative of each garment.
